I had some epiphany that might change your life too if you should have that same struggle of how to approach, your mindset should be, when you want to create a freebee for a product you want to sell or affiliate for; if you think you “are not good enough”.
Very brief preface
I live in Holland. And just the other day I went to the first Internet Profits meeting in Londen. I loved every minute of that event, even though I am not a big fan of groups: This groups experience was a great one!
A set of programs from the Internet Profits company was known before as iPro. But because of the recents changes and all new programs, structures, educations and more, Dean Holland and his team decided to change the name of that program.
Now it expresses more that the education they give and the company and all of his members are one entity instead of iPro being separate entity, and the Internet Profits company another one. It expresses more how the members – like me- are valued, and being more than just a customer alone.
The partnership program as well as the company, is now called Internet Profits. And I -as partner- am called Internet Profit Consultant.
This is the short version of the company name change and how I fit in to this being a starting Digital Entrepreneur. Now I will move on to “The One Thing Making You Real As Affiliate- Or Digital Marketer”, what this article is about.
One thing I have learned that changed my perspective on Digital Business.
At the second conference day I made this little video while walking from my hotel to the meeting. I was pondering about the former day and looking back I -apparently- decided to share a feeling of understanding I experienced during one of Deans lectures about creating a freebee for a product to sell.
What you need to know about me is that I like open doors. Saying, expression that seems obvious but still giving an aha feeling: Some things you might knew all along, but for some reason did not kick in yet.
I decided to share it because my feeling, approach, could be of something worthy for you. All depending on your current mindset about affiliate marketing or creating a front-end-give-away, in your starting digital business.
The expression I used for it in the video was “The only people you attract are the people you speak to”. (but that is a kind of Dutch translation error in my head so I will rephrase it below)
What I ment to say was this “The only people you are going attract, are the ones that can relate to you”. But immediately the question rises. What does that mean? And what has this to do with creating any Freebee.
(You will notice I can not find the right words for the feeling and meaning I really wanted to bring across. I took some time to elaborate on that aha feeling below this video)
People are at different stages in what they know about their own Digital Businesses. There will be always people who know more than you. Don’t let it scare you away: Learn from people that know more.
But at the same time: Do Your Own Thing. Because not only will people be ahead of you, they will also be behind you, knowing less. And that is why you might be the one presenting that perfect solution for the guy or girl just a level behind you expressing precise what he or she was looking for. Even though you think you are just starting.
The Mindset Behind Creating Your First Freebee Even When You Think You Don’t Know Enough
When you are an affiliate marketer or want to be one, do this: Review a product, review it form your point of view with your knowledge level. As little as that may be, it still can be what someone just behind you in knowledge is looking for.
Find that one thing that product was solving for you and use that as your key point in presenting that product. Of course the product can solve more problems but that is not important. It is about what YOU think at your level of knowledge what is important to tell about that ONE point and the ONE thing it solved for YOU.
The mistake in thinking I made, was I thought I needed to know everything there is to know about a product. And that my level of understanding had to be impeccable. When you present the product saying “heeee look at this great product, it does abc all the up to xyz”, you better touch on only one point of that product otherwise people get confused.
Also, that one thing it can solve what made it interesting for you has to be written in YOUR words. And YOU need to do it as YOU, because if you pretend there is no one real person to relate to and people will now. That is what “The only people you are going attract, are the ones that can relate to you” means.
It Is All About You
About what you think. What makes any product unique for you is what makes you unique in presenting that product. Your audience, the millions of people searching for a solution, might pick you because you are the solution provider they want to connect with because there is someone to connect with.
Why? Because you were real. Because you was you. Connection is only possible if there is someone to connect to. A real person. On your about page, and in the way you write your articles. On the way you picked that one solution and made that small pdf that presents your way of looking at that product.It is your personality.
You looked at that product with your thoughts. That is what gives you a face, makes you recognizable. It creates the possibility for anyone to feel related to you which otherwise is impossible.
Be real, take action, build it!
